NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly men's soccer awards and recognized University of Dayton freshman Elias Harryson as the conference Rookie of the Week.

Harryson, a defender from Stockholm, Sweden, led Dayton to a 1-0 victory over A-10 leading VCU Saturday, guiding the Flyers to their seventh shutout of the season. He has led Dayton in minutes played and has been a key to the defensive success this season. The Flyers defense limited VCU to zero shots on goal.

The Flyers are currently 3-3-1 in A-10 play and 7-5-4 overall.

Dayton returns to action this Wednesday in the regular season finale at Fordham at 7 p.m.
