ST. LOUIS –University of Dayton wideout/punt returner Kyle Butz was honored by the Pioneer Football League for his key contributions in Dayton's 53-20 win over Valparaiso on Saturday.  

Butz had a hand in all three of Dayton's touchdowns in Saturday's decisive 23-point second quarter.  He scored on a 51-yard punt return, threw the last block down field on a Jack Cook-to-Tucker Yinger 34-yard TD, and then connected with Cook on a 60-yard touchdown on his only catch of the day.  Butz also had two special teams tackles.

A redshirt sophomore from Cincinnati Moeller High School, leads the PFL in punt returns (14.7 yards per return) And is 14th in NCAA FCS football.

Butz is second for the Flyers in receiving (19 catches for 13.7 avg.).

Dayton is now 3-2 on the season, and 2-1 in the PFL.  The Flyers play at San Diego next week.  Saturday's kickoff is 5 p.m. ET.
