Cash, Davidson, Ehrenborg and Tassi Earn Post-Season Honors

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Four University of Dayton softball players were recognized by the Atlantic 10 on All-Conference Teams as announced by the league office Tuesday. Junior Kyle Davidson and freshman Abby Ehrenborg were named to the First Team while senior Manda Cash and junior Lisa Tassi were named to the Second Team. Both Cash and Davidson were also recognized on the All-Academic Team and Ehrenborg earned mention on the All-Rookie Team.

Massachusetts' Jena Cozza was named Atlantic 10 Conference Softball Player of the Year, while Cozza's teammate, Kiara Oliver, was named Pitcher of the Year. The A-10 announced the awards Tuesday, which also included Coach of the Year Kristi Stefanoni of Massachusetts and Rookie of the Year Paige Rauch from Fordham.

The awards, which included 48 honorees on the All-Academic, All-Conference and All-Rookie teams, were announced ahead of the 2018 Atlantic 10 Softball Championship, which begins Wednesday on Fordham's campus. The major awards, All-Conference and All-Rookie Teams were selected by a vote of the league's head coaches. The All-Academic Team was voted on by the softball communications directors.

Cash, the 2015 A-10 Rookie of the Year and the 2016 A-10 Pitcher of the Year, has now been recognized on an All-Conference roster for four-consecutive years: 2015 Second Team and All-Rookie Team, 2016 First Team, 2017 Second Team and All-Academic Team and 2018 Second Team. Ehrenborg picks up her first career post-season honors after being named to both the First Team and All-Rookie Team. The freshman plays primarily as the designated player but also sees time behind the plate at catcher. She leads the team with 33 RBI and ranks second with a .328.

Tassi also earned her first career post-season nod after being named to the All-Conference Second Team. The Flyers' everyday second baseman, she started in 49 of 51 games shes played this season. Tassi has tallied 43 hits, including 11 extra-base hits.
