The University of Dayton men's tennis program officially started fall practice on Wednesday afternoon at the Graul Tennis Complex on campus.
The Flyers are coming off one of the best seasons in program history after advancing to the Atlantic 10 Conference Finals for the first time since 2005 and finishing with an 18-7 record, tied for second-most wins in program history. Senior
Jordan Benjamin also became the first NCAA Tournament qualifier in program history last year with a 20-2 overall mark, including a perfect 16-0 mark in dual matches, all at the No. 1 spot in the lineup.
Dayton's first tournament of the fall will be Sept. 14-15 at the Greater Cincinnati Collegiate Invitational hosted at the Lindner Family Tennis Center, which also hosts the Western and Southern Open.
The Flyers will also host a dual meet in Dayton from Sept. 21-22 before heading south to Knoxville, Tenn. for the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals to close out the fall season, which will take place from Oct. 11-15. For the full Dayton Tennis fall schedule, click

KEY RETURNERS
Jordan Benjamin – The program's first NCAA Tournament qualifier went unblemished during the spring with a 16-0 mark in dual matches. The senior compiled a 20-2 overall record and his only losses of the season came to ranked foes No. 17 Constantin Schmitz (Tulane) and No. 110 Antonio Cembellin (Indiana) in the NCAA Tournament and ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships, respectively.
Steven Karl – The junior made an immediate impact in 2017-18 after transferring to Dayton from the University of Tennessee before the beginning of last season. Karl went 19-8 overall and played the majority of the dual season at the No. 5 spot in the lineup, where he posted an impressive 8-4 record.
Lorenzo Rollhauser – Another senior leader for the 2018-19 campaign along with Benjamin, Rollhauser missed some time last year due to injury, but still went 10-4 overall and provided a strong impact in doubles play during the Atlantic 10 Championships, clinching the doubles point with
Steven Karl in the semifinals vs. Davidson, which turned out to be decisive in the 4-3 victory.
Will Harper – A true freshman a year ago that found his way into the lineup frequently towards the end of the regular season, Harper will look to continue to be a force in the back half of the lineup during the 2018-19 season. The Suwanee, Ga. native went 6-2 in dual match play last season and gained invaluable postseason experience competing at the No. 6 spot in the lineup during the team's run to the Atlantic 10 Conference Finals.
KEY NEWCOMERS
Langford Hills – Hills joins Dayton as a graduate transfer from the University of Alabama and will have one season of eligibility remaining. Compiled an 18-19 overall record in singles play during three seasons with the Crimson Tide and a 12-9 mark in doubles competition.
Spencer Richey – Another Alabama transfer, Richey joins the Flyers as a junior and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. Richey reached as high as No. 10 nationally in the ITA Doubles rankings with Alabama teammate Mazen Osama during the 2016-17 season. Accrued 34 doubles victories in two seasons at Alabama.
