TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Dayton baseball team has received votes in the Collegiate Baseball 2020 Preseason Poll, released earlier this week. In voting among coaches, Dayton was one of 119 Division I teams recognized ahead of the 2020 season.
"Any time our program receives positive attention is a plus," commented head coach Jayson King. "We are looking forward to the opportunity that we have in the approaching 2020 season with excitement."
Louisville was voted No. 1 after finishing third at the College World Series last season and rolled to a 51-18 overall record.
Dayton posted a 32-26-1 overall record in 2019 with its 32 wins the most for the program since 2011. The third-seeded Flyers advanced to the title game of the 2019 Atlantic 10 Championship, a 4-3 12-inning loss to Fordham, in UD's first postseason appearance since 2014.
The Flyers' 2020 schedule is set to open Feb. 14 with games versus Bryant and UNCW in Wilmington, N.C.
