Baseball 2020 Schedule Announced

The Flyer Schedule Includes 24 Home Games At Woerner Field at DP&L Stadium

DAYTON – The 2020 University of Dayton baseball schedule has been released. It includes 31 road games and three neutral site games, as well as 24 home games at Woerner Field at DP&L Stadium.

The schedule also includes matchups vs. four teams that earned a berth into the 2019 NCAA Championship Field of 64: Florida A&M, Illinois, Ohio State, and UNCW.


"We are looking forward to embarking on this challenging schedule," said Dayton Head Coach Jayson King. "Right out of the gate we will have four very competitive weekends which will be a great test for our program.  This, plus the strong schedule in the Atlantic 10, is exactly what we prepare for and look forward to."

The Flyers start the 2020 season with seven consecutive road games including Bryant and NCAA qualifier UNCW on opening day, Feb. 14 in Wilmington, N.C. and continue action Feb. 15 vs. Bryant and close out the weekend vs. UNCW. The following weekend they'll travel to Memphis, Tenn. for a three-game series vs. the Memphis Tigers Feb. 21-23.

UD is slated to host Miami (Ohio) Feb. 25 at Woerner Field for its home opener.

The Flyers head to Tallahassee, Fla. for a three-game series vs. 2019 NCAA qualifier Florida A&M Feb. 28-March 1.

The Flyers will compete against teams from 11 different conferences during the regular season: Atlantic 10, Big East (Butler, Xavier), Big Ten (Illinois, Ohio State), Horizon League (Northern Kentucky), Northeast Conference (Bryant), Colonial Athletic Association (UNC Wilmington), American Athletic Conference (Memphis), Mid-American Conference (Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Miami, Toledo), Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (Florida A&M), Ohio Valley Conference (Eastern Kentucky, Morehead State), The Summit League (Purdue Fort Wayne).

In addition to the home opener vs. Miami, the Flyers host the following opponents at Woerner Field:

April 7                   Xavier
April 10-12           Saint Louis (A-10)

May 1-3                VCU (A-10)

Dayton will play Illinois in a neutral-site game at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio on March 17. The Flyers take on Ohio State in Columbus on April 15.
The A-10 road opponents include:
March 20-22       George Mason
April 3-5               Rhode Island
April 24-26           Saint Joseph's
May 8-10             Massachusetts

The Atlantic 10 Championship will be held May 20-23 and hosted by VCU in Richmond, Va.

Last season the Flyers advanced to the championship game of the A-10 Tournament and finished with a 32-26-1 record, the 32 wins the most for the program since the 2011 season.
