NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly men's soccer awards and recognized University of Dayton senior goalkeeper
Federico Barrios as the A-10 Defensive Player of the Week.
Barrios recorded two shutouts with six saves last week as the Flyers continue their hot streak. In wins over Northern Kentucky and Massachusetts, the Colombian keeper earned his third and fourth shutout in as many games.
The Flyers are 5-4 on the season and riding a four-game winning streak, thanks in large part to the defensive effort.
Barrios joins teammate
Toluwalase Oladeinbo, who was named A-10 Rookie of the Week last week.
Barrios and the Flyers return to action on Tuesday at Marshall, who enters the game with a 6-1-1 record and receiving votes in the national poll.
