Baseball Set For Home Opener Tuesday Against Miami (Ohio)

Flyers Enter Game 3-4 On The Season

DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team will return home for the first time this season at 3 p.m. on Tuesday to play Miami (Ohio). It marks the first game that will be played at Woerner Field at DP&L Stadium in 2020.

The Flyers sit at 3-4 on the young season after dropping three contests to Memphis last weekend.

The game will have live stats and free audio courtesy of Gem City Sports Network that will be available both during and after tomorrow's contest.

SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS
The Redhawks will enter the contest 3-3 after taking all three games at home against Purdue Fort Wayne, outscoring the Mastodons 31-13 in the series.

Miami has four players hitting over .380 through the first six games. Charlie Harrigan leads the team hitting .467 with a double, a triple and five runs batted in thus far. The Redhawks also features Will Vogelgesang. The senior is hitting .381 with three home runs and nine runs batted in, both of which lead the team.

The Redhawks pitching staff features talent that has been efficient thus far. Jonathan Brand has made two appearances in relief, allowing one run on two hits for a 2.45 earned run average in 3.2 innings on the mound. Logan Schmitt has also pitched in two games allowing two runs in 5 innings and striking out seven.

Danny Hayden sits at the helm of the Redhawks and is in his seventh year in charge of the program. His overall record sits at 164-168 but led Miami to a 37-19 record last season, leading to a fourth place selection in the 2020 MAC Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll.
