DAYTON – Dayton has had a league-high 85 football players recognized, as the Pioneer Football League has announced that 580 of its student-athletes have been named to the 2019 PFL Academic Honor Roll.

This is the 13th consecutive year, and the 25th time in the 26-year history of the Pioneer Football League, that the Flyers have had the most team members on the honor roll. Dayton's 85 honorees this year is the highest ever for the Flyers; This is also the ninth time that the Flyers have had more than 70 honorees.

Four other schools had 60 or more players honored. Following Dayton were Drake (69 honorees), Butler (63), and Davidson and Stetson (60 each).

The Pioneer Football League saw more than 500 student-athletes recognized on its honor roll for the seventh consecutive year.

The honor roll, established as a way for the league to recognize its outstanding student-athletes, consists of student-athletes that posted a 3.0 grade point average or better during the fall semester.
