DAYTON -- The University of Dayton men's basketball team will host Indiana State for the second consecutive season, it was announced today.
The two teams will face each other on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at the University of Dayton Arena, after meeting in the season opener last year.
The Flyers prevailed in that contest 86-81 en route to a school-record 29-2 record in 2019-20. Dayton ended the year ranked third in the nation and will carry a 20-game win streak into 2020-21, the longest active streak in Division I. UD won its third Atlantic 10 regular season championship in the last five years, but went undefeated (18-0) for the first time.
Flyer head coach
Anthony Grant was the consensus national Coach of the Year, earning that honor from the Atlanta Tip-Off Club (Naismith Trophy), the NABC, the USBWA (Henry Iba Award), the Associated Press, The Sporting News, Fox Sports and CBSsports.com.
Indiana State went 18-12 overall in 2019-20, and was third in the Missouri Valley Conference with an 11-7 record. The Sycamores return seven letterwinners and four starters from that team for coach Greg Lansing.
Last year's season opener was the first meeting between UD and ISU in men's basketball.
Further details on the Flyers' 2020-21 season will be announced at a later date.
