DAYTON - University of Dayton men's tennis sophomore
Connor Bruce and volleyball sophomore
Amelia Moore have been named the
Ohio's College Advantage Student-Athletes of the Week for contests during the week of March 22-28.
Bruce, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., won three singles matches while competing in the No. 1 slot, two of which came against A-10 opponents, to help lead the Flyers to a 3-0 week. He was named the A-10 Performer of the Week on Tuesday, his third weekly honor this season, and has won six-consecutive singles matches playing in the top spot for Dayton.
Moore helped lead Dayton to two wins at home over Saint Louis this past weekend, averaging 2.12 kills and 1.50 blocks per set for the Flyers. In Friday's 3-0 win, the middle blocker from Ocean Springs, Miss., tallied six kills while swinging at .750 to go with three blocks and two service aces. In the Flyers' and Billikens' 3-2 battle on Saturday, Moore was one block off the double-double with 11 kills and a career-high nine blocks. She was named the A-10 Player of the Week on Monday, her second weekly award of the season.
Each week we will recognize Dayton student-athletes throughout the end of the school year.
