NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference released its men's soccer preseason poll and all-conference teams Friday prior to the start of the 2021 season.

Dayton was predicted to finish third overall in the league and received two first-place votes after winning the regular season title last year during a COVID shortened season.

The Flyers lost only one starter from last year's team and return a veteran group of athletes eager to defend the title this season.

UD was picked third behind A-10 favorites Fordham and runners-up Saint Louis. The Flyers beat out Massachusetts and VCU to round out the top five. Four different teams split first-place votes.

The preseason teams were also announced with Dayton senior Kingsford Adjei earning All-Conference honors. The two-time and reigning A-10 Midfielder of the Year will lead the Flyer attack this season after recording a team-high five goals and four assists last season.

Dayton will face Bellarmine and Wabash this weekend in preseason action before opening the regular season Friday, Aug. 27 vs UAB in Columbus, Ohio at the Ohio State Tournament.
