DAYTON – The University of Dayton has announced that
Elijah Weaver, a guard on the men's basketball team, will have surgery to repair an injury to his left wrist. The surgery has been scheduled for Friday, March 4, and Weaver will miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season.
A 6-foot-6 redshirt junior from Cocoa, Fla., Weaver played in 22 games this season and averaged 6.6 points a game. The original injury occurred on Dec. 12 in Dayton's win over Virginia Tech. During Atlantic 10 play, Weaver missed four games and averaged 3.1 points per game in the 10 games he saw action in.
Dayton (20-8, 12-3 Atlantic 10) plays at La Salle on Saturday.
