NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference named it's All-Academic and All-Rookie teams for the indoor track and field season on Wednesday, and standout freshman Chante' Clinkscale was twice honored as an All-Rookie performer, in both the 60m and 200m races.
Â
Clinkscale had a break-out freshman season on the indoor track in 2022, setting numerous conference and Dayton all-time records, as well as being named the Rookie Performer of the Week twice for the A-10. She was also named Outstanding Rookie Performer at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championships, a meet where she set new Dayton and Atlantic 10 all-time records in both the 60 and 200m races. Â Her 60m time of 7.33 seconds ranks third in the NCAA Great Lakes region for the 2022 indoor season, while her 23.90 seconds time in the 200m ranks sixth in the region.
Â
The Warren, Ohio native is already on pace to be named an All-Rookie performer for the outdoor season as well, as her 11.41 seconds time in the 100m race at the Raleigh Relays currently ranks her first in the Atlantic 10 for this season. Clinkscale and the Flyers are set to return to action on Friday, when they round out the regular season for outdoor track at the Indiana Invitational. The Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships will follow May 7-8 in Richmond, Va.
