Women’s Basketball Assistant Keane Named To Canada U-23 Team Staff

The Former Canadian International Will Coach At The Inaugural GLOBL JAM

TORONTO – University of Dayton women's basketball program assistant coach Kalisha Keane was named to the Canadian U-23 Men's National Team coaching staff.

Keane will join the team for an upcoming tournament, the first ever GLOBL JAM July 5-10. The event will take place at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, Ontario and will feature international U-23 men's and women's teams from around the world. Team Canada will compete against the United States, Brazil, and Italy.

"The opportunity to coach and represent Canada again at this level is such a tremendous honor," said Keane. "I'm extremely excited for the opportunity to learn and grow from such a diverse and experienced coaching staff. Toronto is home and such a beautiful place, so to be here for the inaugural GLOBL JAM is something truly special."

Keane joined the Dayton staff earlier this spring after three seasons at Long Island University, where she served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. She spent two seasons before that at her alma mater Michigan State University as a graduate assistant. Prior to her return to Michigan State, Keane played six seasons professionally in Croatia, Israel, Turkey, Slovakia and Australia, concluding her career with the Melbourne Boomers in 2016-17.

A Scarborough, Ontario native, she played on the Canadian Senior National Team. She represented her country at the FIBA Americas Championship twice, earning a bronze medal in 2011 and averaged 7.5 points and three rebounds per game on the way to a silver medal in 2013. She served as co-founder and directory of women's outreach and development at Love Live Hoop from 2012-17.
