DAYTON – Dayton's Red-Blue Game is back!
The annual Red & Blue Game featuring the University of Dayton men's and women's basketball teams will take place Saturday, Oct. 15 at UD Arena with doors opening at 12:30 p.m. ET. Admission to the Red & Blue game is free and open to the public.
Parking is also free for the Red & Blue Game, and all lots at UD Arena will be open. Fans will be able to enter the Arena at the north and south concourses, and also through the Connor Lobby. A food and drink menu will be available at the UD Arena concession stands.
This is the first time since 2016 that UD has held the Red-Blue game, due to the three-year Arena Transformation project, followed by Covid concerns in 2020 and 2021.
RED & BLUE GAME TIMELINE (All times after doors open are approximate.)
• 12:30 p.m. - Doors Open
• 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. – Autograph session for members of the men's basketball team presented by CareSource in East Concourse Club
• Approx. 1 pm to 2pm - Women's Basketball on court warmup for warmup and skills sessions. (Due to a lack of available players, the women's team will not scrimmage.) Autograph session for members of the women's basketball team presented by CareSource will be approximately 15 minutes after the conclusion of scrimmage in the East Concourse Club
• Approx. 2:20 p.m. - Men's basketball on court warmup and intrasquad scrimmage (tentatively four 6-minute quarters)
To ensure all fans can participate, fans are permitted one (1) item to be autographed, per person.
The UD Ticket Office in the Connor Lobby will also be open during the Red-Blue Game to assist fans with digital ticketing questions.
Dayton men's basketball returns all five starters from a team that finished 24-11 in 2021-22, and tied for second in the A-10 with a 14-4 record. Included in those 24 wins was a win over eventual national champion Kansas. Headlining the returnees is
DaRon Holmes II, who was the2022 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, second team all-conference and on the A-10 All-Defensive team.
The UD women's team enters the upcoming season with a new coaching staff under the direction of first-year head coach
Tamika Williams-Jeter. The Flyers have seven new faces on their 11-player roster as Dayton looks to defend its 2022 regular season A-10 title.
