Women's Soccer Finishes Regular Season at Rhode Island

The Flyers Look To Finish The Season Unbeaten In A-10 Play

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team concludes regular season action Sunday, Oct. 22 when it travels to take on Rhode Island at 12 p.m. at the URI Soccer Complex.

REDA EARNS A-10 DEFENSIVE POW
Batoul Reda was named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week Monday, Oct. 16.

• The sophomore led the Flyers to a 3-0 win over George Mason and a 2-0 victory over Loyola Chicago, helping lower UD's goals allowed average to an Atlantic 10-leading 0.59.

• Reda faced only four shots in Dayton's shutout of George Mason to start the week, stopping both that were on-goal. The keeper turned around to face 14 total shots against Loyola Chicago on Sunday, making saves on all seven that were on-goal.

• The Dearborn, Mich. native not only leads the A-10 in save percentage (.892), but currently ranks sixth in the nation in the category.

TAYLOR'S BIG WEEK
• Fifth-year Marlee Taylor had a big week for the Flyers, scoring a goal and registering an assist in both wins in her role as a box-to-box midfielder.

• The Plymouth, Mich. native earned a spot on both the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week and the College Soccer News Team of the Week thanks to her performance.

• In addition, Taylor was named No. 99 on the Top Drawer Soccer Midseason National Top 100.

CLIMBING THE RANKS
• Fifth-year senior Mackenzie Lutz is climbing the Flyers' all-time leaderboard for minutes played by a field player, now sitting in fourth in program history.

• The Slyvania, Ohio native has logged 7,535 minutes in her career, becoming just the sixth Flyer field player to surpass the 7,000 minute mark. She needs just four minutes to pass Kathleen Beljan (7,535) for third place all-time and 22 to move into second past Emily Kenyon (7,556)

• Kelsey Miller (2008-11) holds the program record for minutes played by a field player at 8,159.

INTO THE TOP 30
• The Flyers jumped from the receiving votes category to No. 28 in the College Soccer News Top 30 this week.

SERIES HISTORY
• Dayton and Rhode Island have played 23 times in program history, with the Flyers leading the all-time series 18-3-1.

• The Flyers are unbeaten in 10 consecutive matches in the series, outscoring the Rams 26-4 in that time frame.

• UD has not played URI in Kingston since the 2015 season when the Flyers won 2-0. In 2016, Dayton won the Atlantic 10 Tournament as the No. 7 seed at the URI Soccer Complex, but defeated Saint Louis, George Washington and Saint Joseph's on the way to the title.

• In last season's 2-0 win for Dayton, current Flyers Noel Blain and Alicia Donley both scored goals.

• The Flyers head into the regular season finale with a 10-1-5 on the season and a 6-0-3 in the Atlantic 10. They currently sit in third place in the standings.

• The offense is led by fifth-year Laney Huber, who scored her team-leading sixth goal of the season in the regular season home finale victory over Loyola Chicago. Senior Madison Wilson still leads the team with 14 points on the campaign, scoring five goals and registering four assists. Senior Diana Benigno's six assists lead the Flyers.
