NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Dayton volleyball senior
Amelia Moore has claimed the final Atlantic 10 Volleyball Player of the Week award for her work in two Flyer wins over VCU. This is the third weekly award for the middle blocker from Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
Davidson senior Bella Brady earned Defensive Player of the Week honors and Duquesne freshman once again earned Rookie of the Week accolades. The awards, announced Monday, are for the final week of the regular season, Nov. 6-12.
Moore averaged 3.17 kills per set and 1.50 blocks per set for the Flyers as Dayton closed out the regular season with two 3-0 wins against VCU. On Friday, she tallied a season-high 13 kills to go with a match-high six blocks and two digs as UD claimed the program's 16th A-10 regular season title. In Saturday's win, Moore recorded six kills while swinging at .462 and collected three blocks and three digs. For the weekend, she averaged a .395 hitting percentage and 4.00 points/set.

Dayton will be the #1 seed in the upcoming Atlantic 10 Volleyball Championship. The 2023 A-10 regular season champs will have a first-round bye and are set to face off against the winner of the #4 Davidson vs. #5 Saint Louis match on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. The tournament, hosted by Davidson, will be played at Belk Arena in Davidson, N.C., Nov. 17-19.
