DAYTON – The 2024 MLS SuperDraft took place on Tuesday with University of Dayton senior forward
Kenji Mboma Dem selected by FC Cincinnati with the 56
th overall pick.
"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity and the people that helped me and supported me along the way," said Mboma Dem. "This includes my family, friends, all my teammates and coaches, as well as the University of Dayton."
The Paris, France native earned Atlantic 10 Championship Most Outstanding Performer and All-Tournament team honors after leading Dayton to the A-10 title and automatic berth in the 2023 NCAA College Cup. Mboma Dem finished the season with a team-high nine goals and started all 15 games for the Flyers.
He earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 accolades after ranking Top 5 in the league in shots, shots on goal, goals, and points. Mboma Dem was named Dayton's Student-Athlete of the Week once and logged 1,330 minutes of action as the central striker. Â
Mboma Dem is the latest Flyer to be chosen in the MLS SuperDraft joining former Dayton student-athletes
Xavier Zengue (2023 to Columbus Crew – 27
th overall),
Jaden Jones-Riley (2023 to Portland Timbers – 73rd pick), Kingsford Adjei (2022 to New York City F.C. – 56
th overall) and Jonas Fjeldberg (2021 to F.C. Cincinnati – 54
th overall). Prior to that Lalas Abubakar (No. 5 overall), Amass Amankona, Isaac Kissi, Dasan Robinson, Chris Rolfe, and Denny Clanton were all drafted since 2004.
