NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference recognized the University of Dayton freshman Jadyn Haywood as the women's track and field rookie of the week after her stellar performance at the Marshall Invitational on Saturday.

The Dayton native and Chaminade Julienne alum finished first overall in the 200m dash out of 35 competitors, while also setting a PR with her 24.76 second time. 

This mark was also the third-fastest indoor 200m dash time in University of Dayton history. Haywood previously set the third all-time record in January when she ran a 24.90 second 200m at the Gladstein Invitational. 

At the Akron Invitational, Haywood also set the fifth all-time record for the 60m dash in school history with her 7.65 second finish.

Haywood also earned third place in the 4x400m relay on Saturday with her team finishing in 3:58.23.

Track and Field is traveling to Findlay, Ohio on Friday, February 17th to compete at the Flag City open for their indoor regular season finale.
