DAYTON - University of Dayton football sophomore
Aiden McKinley and volleyball senior
Amelia Moore have been named the
Ohio's CollegeAdvantage Student-Athletes of the Week. These awards are for contests held Sept. 18-24.
A linebacker from Louisville, Kentucky, McKinley had eight tackles (six solo) with 1.5 TFL in Dayton's 40-25 loss at San Diego. In four games played this season, he has already more than doubled his total tackles output with 36 on the year.
Moore, who hails from Ocean Springs, Mississippi, averaged 1.86 blocks per set and 3.50 points per set for Dayton as the Flyers opened Atlantic 10 play with two wins at defending champion Loyola Chicago. On Friday, she tallied seven blocks and got under four digs to go with nine kills and three aces in UD's four-set win. With her first kill of Saturday's match, Moore reached the 1,000-kill mark becoming just the third player in program history to post 1,000 kills and 500 blocks for their career. In the sweep of the Ramblers, the middle blocker from Ocean Springs, Miss., recorded six blocks and six kills. She was named A-10 Defensive Player of the Week, her second weekly conference honor this season.
