DAYTON -- The University of Dayton men's basketball team will host Ashland in an exhibition game on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. ET in UD's final tune-up before the 2024-25 regular season.
Ashland is an NCAA Division II school, and a member of the great Midwest Athletic Conference. The eagles were 17-11 overall last season, and 11-9 in the GMAC.
Dayton was picked second in the Atlantic 10's Preseason Poll. Senior forward
Nate Santos was named preseason All-Atlantic 10, and senior transfer guard
Posh Alexander was named to the second team. Alexander and senior guard
Enoch Cheeks were both named to the A-10 preseason All-Defensive Team.
UD returns three starters from last year's squad that posted a 25-8 overall mark and finished third in the Atlantic 10 Conference standings. The Flyers earned a No. 7 seed in the NCAA tournament, advancing to the second round. UD has five players on its roster who have earned all-conference honors in their careers – Santos, Alexander, Cheeks,
Javon Bennett and
Malachi Smith.
The Flyers will open the 2024-25 season on Monday, Nov. 4 when Saint Francis visits UD Arena. Dayton will welcome the 11th millionth fan to attend a Flyer home game at the Arena that night.
