#UDVB Secures Five Commitments for 2025 Signing Class

Morgan Asleson, Addi Gallentine, Claire Logeais, Isabel Simmons And Melina Schrader Will Join The Flyers

DAYTON – The University of Dayton volleyball team and head coach Tim Horsmon announced Wednesday, Nov. 13, that high school seniors Morgan Asleson, Addi Gallentine, Claire Logeais, Isabel Simmons, and Melina Schrader have signed for the 2025-26 academic year.

"We believe this class will bring great work ethic and athleticism to our program," said Horsmon. "We've addressed our needs replacing a strong and very successful senior class.

This group is what we look for in a student-athlete in our volleyball program. They are high-character young women with a big upside athletically.  We're excited to get them here and begin their training."

MORGAN ASLESON – DEFENSIVE SPECIALIST / LIBERO – LAGRANGE, ILL.
Asleson comes to Dayton from Benet Academy in Lisle, Ill. after a four-year varsity career. The defender is a team captain on the Redwings' 2024 conference championship squad and has anchored their defense with 136 digs thus far this season. Benet Academy is ranked No. 5 in the nation by MaxPreps and is still in the Illinois State playoffs, vying for a Class 4A Championship this weekend. Asleson also earned All-Academic team honors and High Honors distinction for three years.

"Morgan will improve our ball control immediately next fall," said Horsmon. "She is a high-level passer and defender who has been an elite libero at the national level. Morgan is very technically trained playing club for Sports Performance and one of the best high school programs in the Chicagoland area at Benet Academy."

ADDI GALLENTINE – MIDDLE BLOCKER – NEWBURGH, IND.
Gallentine comes to Dayton by way of Castle High School in Newburgh, Ind. The middle blocker set new records for single-season (169) and career blocks (371) for the Knights, and finishing her career as an Indiana Class 4A first team All-State selection. Gallentine helped lead Castle to three conference and sectional championships, two regional championships, and one semi-state championship. She also shined in the classroom, being a member of the National Honor Society as well as earning Gold Academic All-State Honors.

"Addi is a bouncy athlete that can touch 10'4, move really well laterally, and has a nose for the ball blocking," said Horsmon. "She finished her senior year as first in the state of Indiana in blocks at the 4A Division. We love how hard she works and are excited about her ceiling as an offensive player, and we can't wait to get her in the gym with us."

CLAIRE LOGEAIS – MIDDLE BLOCKER – PRIOR LAKE, MINN.
Logeais joins the Flyers after a three-year varsity career at the Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield, Minn. She helped the Stars win three Tri-Metro Conference championships, including an undefeated 9-0 record in league play this season. Logeais was an All-Conference member in both 2023 and 2024, and earned an honorable mention nod in 2022. She also plays for the Northern Lights volleyball club.

"Claire is newer to the game, but we strongly believe she has a really high ceiling," said Horsmon. "Her size and length combined with good athleticism will give her the ability to grow fast as a player. She has a great feel for blocking and already looks technically sound. She'll get to play another season for a great Northern Lights program before arriving here at Dayton."

ISABEL SIMMONS – MIDDLE BLOCKER / OPPOSITE – SIOUX FALLS, S.D.
Simmons comes to the Gem City from Sioux Falls, S.D. after a two-year varsity career at Sioux Falls Jefferson High School. The middle blocker amassed 394 kills and 125 blocks in her career, hitting at a .295 average. Simmons was also a four-time Honor Roll member while playing for the Cavaliers, and played club for Sanford Sports.

"Isabel is a really athletic player who can play multiple positions in our program," said Horsmon. "She has played primarily the middle position in her career, but will most likely see time as a pin when she arrives this spring. Isabel jumps and moves really well with a good arm and is a competitive player who is a multi-sport athlete at her high school."

MELINA SCHRADER – SETTER – NEW BREMEN, OHIO
Schrader is set to join the Flyers after an outstanding prep career at nearby New Bremen High School. The setter was an All-State first team member three consecutive seasons (2022-24), and helped lead the Cardinals to back-to-back State Championships in 2022 and 2023. Schrader set the school record for career assists (3,207), was the conference Player of the Year (2023), a three-time All-District first team member (2022-24) and two-time Setter of the Year (2023-24). A standout setter at Munciana Volleyball, Schrader achieved Honor Roll and Conference All-Academic Award winner all four years of varsity volleyball. She also helped lead Munciana to an AAU National Championship in 18 open last year.

"Melina is a dynamic setter who has won big matches at a high level at both the high school and club level," said Horsmon. "She played with the top 18 Munciana program and also helped New Bremen win back-to-back state championships. We love her athleticism and even more than that her competitiveness. We expect Melina to have a considerable impact as soon as she steps on campus this spring."
