DAYTON - Casey Bogues for the second straight year and third time in her career has been named All-Academic Athlete by the United States Track & Field And Cross Country Coaches Association. Bogues has now received All-Academic honors by the USTFCCCA in 2024, 2023 and 2021. The redshirt junior is a 4.0 student pursuing a graduate degree in Master of Science in Education, Literacy. eceived her Bachelors of Science in Education with concentrations in English Language Arts and Social Studies in May of 2023. In June, she was one of five Flyers to receive Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators.
It was another successful outdoor season for Bogues, who broke the school record in javelin by throwing 57.41m at the U.S Olympic Team Trials in July. Back in June, Bogues claimed Honorable Menton All-American honors at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. She claimed her third Atlantic 10 javelin title in May, which ended a season that included the top eight throws in the conference.
Kendall Johnson was also named All-Academic Athlete by USTFCCCA. The honor concludes a freshman season that featured Honorable Menton All-American honors at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, the school record in the long jump at 6.32m, a gold medal at the A-10 Indoor Championships and a silver medal at the A-10 Outdoor Championships. Johnson is no longer a member of UD Track and Field and announced earlier this month her commitment to the University of Oklahoma.
The USTFCCCA includes thousands of coaches from the NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA and state high school athletic associations.
