DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team returns home to take on St. Bonaventure on Sunday, Oct. 19 for a 1 p.m. match at Baujan Field.
ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (10-3-2; 7-0-0) is off to its best start in Atlantic 10 play since 2010 after defeating Saint Louis on the road to improve to 7-0 in the league. Sophomore
Laney Smith leads the team in points (13 - 5 goals, 3 assists) on the season, while fellow sophomore
Liv Grenda has moved into double-digit points on the season as well (11 - 4 goals, 3 assists). Keeper
Batoul Reda has an NCAA-leading 11 shutouts on the season.
SCOUTING ST. BONAVENTURE
The Bonnies (3-10-2; 0-7-0) have yet to pick up a win in Atlantic 10 play, most recently falling to Saint Joseph's at home by a 3-1 final. Giovanna Coghetto leads the team in points (12) and goals (5). Daniela Bruna Ribeiro de Souza has a team-leading three assists. Keeper Adelaide Paredes leads St. Bonaventure with 675 minutes in goal on the season, allowing 2.67 goals per game.
SERIES STUFF
Dayton and St. Bonaventure have not played one another since the 2023 season when the two played to a scoreless draw in New York. The Flyers are unbeaten against the Bonnies since 2010, boasting a record of 11-0-1 in that timeframe. The last time UD played SBU at Baujan Field it won 2-0.
LAST TIME OUT
• First-half goals from sophomores
Laney Smith and
Liv Grenda boosted the Flyers to a 2-0 victory over Saint Louis on Thursday night at Hermann Stadium.
• The win moved Dayton into sole possession of first place in the Atlantic 10 with 21 points, while improving the Flyers' record to 10-3-2 on the season and 7-0 in the A-10. UD's win snapped SLU's 48-game home win streak and is the first home A-10 loss for the Billikens since 2016.
• Smith scored in the 15th minute, as the keeper could not handle her hard and low strike. The goal was Smith's fifth of the season and came thanks to assists from Grenda and
Karli Ferguson.
• Grenda's goal came less than 10 minutes later, as the sophomore made a beautiful play after a brilliant feed from
Olivia Baca to beat the SLU defender and put Dayton ahead 2-0.

Batoul Reda stopped all eight shots from SLU, as she and the defender combination of
Ella Raimondi,
Lauren Fields,
Kyra Karfonta,
Bre Mendoza and
Caroline Schork posted the Flyers' 11th shutout of the season.
CONTINUING TO ROLL
• With Dayton's road win at Saint Louis on Thursday night the Flyers improve to 7-0 in Atlantic 10 play, marking their best start to conference play since 2010.
• UD's seventh consecutive win is the longest winning streak since winning seven straight last season. The Flyers went unbeaten (8-0-2) over the final nine regular season games and first game of the Atlantic 10 Championship.
• With three matches left in the regular season, the Flyers now have the lead when it comes to the Atlantic 10 Tournament's top seed.
• The higher seed hosts in the Atlantic 10 Championship, so Dayton's match against George Mason on Thursday will not be the last women's soccer match played at Baujan Field this season.
RPI JUMP
• With the Flyers road win at Saint Louis on Thursday, UD has jumped to No. 34 in the national RPI rankings.
• Dayton is the highest ranked Atlantic 10 school, leading Saint Louis (44), Loyola (77), Rhode Island (80), and Duquesne (81).
CLIMBING THE RANKINGS
• Dayton's defense has been climbing the national rankings since conference play began. Not only do the Flyers rank No. 2 in goals against average in the conference, but they also rank 11th nationally.
• UD's shutout percentage is also among the country's elite, leading the A-10 and ranking second in Division I. The Flyers trail only Tennessee for the season (.800).
SUPER SOPHOMORES
• Not only did Dayton's "Super Sophomores" of
Liv Grenda and
Laney Smith each score a goal in the Flyers' 2-0 road win at Saint Louis, but they also tallied an assist on one another's goal.
• The scoring duo has now found the back of the net in the same game five times in their UD careers.
REDA ROCKS
• Senior
Batoul Reda continues to impress in her final season as a Flyers, registering her 11th shutout of the season in Thursday night's 2-0 victory at Saint Louis.
• The Dearborn, Mich. native stopped all eight shots she faced, including a clutch diving stop in the 70th minute that kept the Billikens off the board.
• Reda now has 38 career shutouts, giving her the most shutouts in all of NCAA Division I women's soccer.
