DAYTON - The University of Dayton baseball team finishes off its eight-game homestand by playing host to the University of Akron on Tuesday, April 1 at 3 p.m. at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium.

Players of the Week
- For the second time this season, the FlyBoys had a pair of weekly winners in the Atlantic 10 Players of the Week, as freshman
Rylan Lujo earned Rookie of the Week honors for the third time this season and junior
J.J. Gatti became the first UD pitcher to win Pitcher of the Week.
- Lujo continued his hot streak this week, hitting an even .500 with a 1.611 OPS thanks to three home runs and a pair of doubles. The Coconut Creek, Fla. native drove in 11 runs, scored seven more, and was also 2-for-2 in stolen bases.Â
- Gatti pitched seven innings of scoreless baseball in a weekend series that saw Dayton and Davidson combine for 95 runs on 95 hits and slug 20 total homers. The Rockville Centre, N.Y. native struck out seven and allowed just two hits while walking one.
Offensive Explosion
- Dayton and Davidson had a series for the ages this weekend, with the two teams combining for 95 runs on 95 hits and 20 home runs.
- The Flyers' 52 runs scored in the series is the most for a UD offense in a three-game series since at least the 2005 season.
- Dayton had 54 hits, 10 home runs and 9 doubles in the series, led by junior shortstop
Dyrenson Wouters, who hit .714 (10-of-14) with three doubles, a home run, eight runs scored and six RBI.
Gatti Got 'Em
- Junior starter
J.J. Gatti's performance this weekend is even more impressive with the historic offensive output from the other games.
- Gatti surrendered just two hits, one of which was an infield single on a swinging bunt, and struck out seven and only walked one.Â
- The Rockville Centre, N.Y. native threw seven shutout innings against a Davidson team averaging a run per inning in 2025.
D-Mart Dominates
- Sophomore
Michael DiMartini is tied for both the A-10 lead in batting average (.443) and stolen bases (23), and is also fourth in the conference in home runs (8).
- D-Mart is also first in the league in hits (54), triples (5), second in runs scored (41), fourth in on-base percentage (.514) and second in runs scored (41).
Hit Parade Â
- Dayton is fifth nationally in total hits this season with 322, led in part by sophomore
Michael DiMartini and freshman
Rylan Lujo.
- DiMartini is not only first in the Atlantic 10 in hits this season, but leads all of NCAA Division I as of March 31 with his 54 base knocks. Lujo, meanwhile, ranks second in the A-10 and fourth in college baseball with 52 hits.

Dyrenson Delivers

Dyrenson Wouters has taken his offensive performance to a new level, hitting .667 in four games last week and bringing his season average to .411.
- The Aruba native is now third on the team in average, second in doubles (10), third in runs scored (24), and fourth in RBI (2).
Five-Hit Zorn
- For the second time this season, sophomore
Adin Zorn collected five hits in a game, becoming the only Flyer to accomplish the feat twice this season.
- Zorn had two doubles and three singles against Davidson in Dayton's 18-17 victory.
Two-Bomb Bobby
- Redshirt sophomore
Bobby Stang became the third #FlyBoys to homer twice in the same game, launching a pair of bombs in Dayton's 21-4 win over Davidson.

Rylan Lujo (2x, at Ohio / vs. Davidson) in hitting two homers in the same game.
Day Air Game Tickets On Sale Now
- The Dayton baseball team and the Dayton Dragons have announced that tickets for the Flyers' 2025 Day Air Ballpark game against Wright State on April 29 are now on sale.
- Tickets are $10.00 for all spectators. Students from both the University of Dayton and Wright State will be admitted free of charge.
Scouting Akron
- Akron is 7-20 so far this season and has a Mid-American Conference record of 1-11.
- The Zips are currently hitting .262 on the campaign as a team, led by Max Bowman (.327), Caden Matlon (.344) and Andrew Horvath (.317).
- The pitching has a team ERA of 7.78 on the season, with Elijah Griffith (1-0, 5.79 ERA) scheduled to pitch on Tuesday.
