WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Atlantic 10 Conference has recognized University of Dayton standout Jadyn Haywood as its Track Performer of the Week for her strong performance at the Fairgrounds Invitational in Indianapolis this past Friday and Saturday.
The senior sprinter earned the honor after recording two finishes atop the podium at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, in both the 60m and 200m. On Friday, she came out victorious in the 60m hurdles, running a personal best time of 7.42 in the final to improve her second-ranked program mark and give her sole possession of the top standing in the conference this season. Haywood was a winner once again on Saturday, this time in the 200m. She recorded another PR of 23.96 en route to the win, improving upon her own school record.
The Dayton native is ranked as the top athlete in the Atlantic 10 this season in both the 60m and 200m events, holding the fastest time in the conference in both.
Haywood and the rest of the Flyers will be in action again this weekend, February 13th and 14th. Sprinters, jumpers, and throwers will return to Indianapolis for the Heartland Invitational, while the distance team will be in Michigan for the GVSU Big Meet, hosted by Grand Valley State University. More information on both events will be released later this week.
