VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.- University of Dayton track and field finished 3rd at the Atlantic Ten Indoor Championships after two full days of competition. The Flyers earned 11 finishes in the top five, seven of which earned spots on the podium, and four individual conference championships.
 
In a team competition that came down to the final event in the 4x400m, UD earned their best team result at the A-10 Indoor Championships since 2022. It is their fourth top-three finish in the last 10 years.
 
Highlights

• Jadyn Haywood was crowned A-10 champion in the 200m, running 23.72 breaking her own school record and A-10 championship meet record that she set in Friday's prelim. Simone Bessong was the runner-up in the 200m, setting a personal record of 23.96 and becoming only the second Flyer ever, along with Haywood, to run under 24 seconds. Junior Sydney Workman also earned a top-five finish in the event, coming fifth in a time of 24.86.
• Junior Camryn Thompson was victorious in the high jump, setting a new personal best mark of 1.73m, the second best mark in school history, to pick up crucial points for the Flyers.
• Haywood and Bessong also both got on the podium in the 60m dash, finishing second and third respectively. Haywood tied her personal best of 7.42 in the event.
• Senior Raegan Ernst finished on the podium in the 60m hurdles, finishing third in a time of 8.66.
• After her weight throw victory on Friday, senior Rebekah Conrad finished fourth in the shot put, throwing a personal best of 13.57m.
• Junior Bryn Hothem set a personal record of 9:55.61 in the 3,000m and won her heat as she finished fifth overall.
• The 4x400m team of Mariya Washington, Workman, Grace Felts, and Bessong took third in a time of 3:48.35.
