DAYTON – The University of Dayton men's cross country team will open its season on the track in Indianapolis for the Fairgrounds Invitational. Four athletes will toe the line for the Flyers in their first of two indoor competitions. This will be the first competition for men's cross country athletes since the NCAA XC Great Lakes Regional in November.

Friday, the 3,000m will start at 6:15 p.m.

Saturday, the mile is scheduled for 11:35 a.m. and the 5,000m at 1:10 p.m.

Gerrit Dam, from Crystal Lake, Illinois, will run in the 3k on Friday before competing in the mile on Saturday. The sophomore enters the mile with a PR of 4:35.06. He is coming off a cross-country season that saw him set PRs in both the 8k (26:14.8) and the 5k (15:38.4).
Jacob Herzog, from Liberty Township, Ohio, is set to compete in the 5k on Saturday. The Archbishop Moeller product currently holds an indoor PR of 15:38.00 in the event. His cross country season saw him earn his first collegiate win at Wright State's Wild Bill Invitational.
Colin Sams, from Fairfield, Ohio, is slated to run the 5k on Saturday. The Junior out of St. Xavier High School holds a personal record of 15:49.06 at the distance.
James Mroczka, from Mason, Ohio, will join Sams and Herzog in the 5k. The junior holds an indoor PR of 15:11.71 in the event.
