DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team is set to welcome Western Michigan to UD Softball Stadium for a single midweek game Wednesday. First pitch between the Flyers and Broncos is set for 2 p.m. at UD Softball Stadium and admission is free.

ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (8-8) opened the Atlantic 10 portion of its schedule with three games at home against Loyola Chicago March 8-9. The series was moved forward one day, to Sunday and Monday, after inclement weather in the Dayton area and the visiting Ramblers claimed three wins over the Flyers. UD's offense is paced by junior Deirdre Flaherty with a .370 average on the strength of 17 hits to go with 15 RBI while junior Kirnan Bailey (.308) has scored 13 runs on 16 hits and she is a perfect 13-of-r13 in stolen bases, ranking her seventh nationally with 0.81 SB/game. In the circle, senior Izzy Kemp (4-2) leads the Flyers' pitching corps with a 1.30 ERA with 77 strikeouts over 43.0 innings of work. Kemp ranks third nationally with 12.5 strikeouts/seven innings and 10th with a 7.70 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

UP NEXT
Dayton returns to A-10 action this weekend with a trip to the Big Apple. The Flyers will be in the Bronx for three games against the Rams of Fordham March 14-15. Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled for 12 p.m. followed by a single game Sunday also at 12 p.m. at Bahoshy Softball Complex.
