DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's soccer team wraps the non-conference portion of the 2026 campaign on Sunday, Sept. 13 with a 6 p.m. match against Ball State at Baujan Field.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
UD dropped its final road tilt of the non-conference campaign on Thursday night, falling to Xavier 4-0 on a rainy night at Corcoran Field.
Â
Despite multiple chances from the Flyers' offense, it was the Musketeers that broke through with the first goal of the game in the ninth minute of action. Xavier added its second of the half in the 34th minute to build a 2-0 lead at the break.
Â
The Musketeers scored their third goal of the match in the 68th minute and added their fourth and final on a perfectly placed free kick in the 78th.
Â
UD's two shots on goal came from junior
Lauryn Contini and sophomore
Emery Newlin.
Â
Xavier boasted the ultimate edge in shots (12-9), shots on goal (8-2), and corners (4-3).
Â
AGAINST THE CARDINALS
Dayton and Ball State have only played one another twice in program history, last meeting up in the 2009 season.
Â
The Flyers defeated the Cardinals at Baujan Field that season, 4-0, and made it back-to-back seasons with a win over the Cardinals for UD.

Â
It is also the 10th anniversary of the 2016 Atlantic 10 Tournament Championship, one of the most improbable titles in program history.
Â
The Flyers will celebrate the two championship squads on Friday, Oct. 2 prior to their match against La Salle.
