The University of Dayton men's basketball program has been named one of the "100 Greatest College Basketball Programs of All Time" by Street & Smith's.
The Flyers came in at #79 in a Street & Smith's magazine that hit newstands Tuesday. The ratings system used a mathematical formula that included a school's NCAA and NIT tournament appearances and performances, conference championships, all-time winning percentage and graduation rates.
The Flyers have been in the NCAA's 13 times, reaching the finals once, won the NIT twice, and have a .580 all-time winning percentage and a 80% graduation rate.
The top five programs were Kentucky, UCLA, North Carolina, Kansas and Duke.
Six of the 12 teams currently in the Atlantic 10 are on the list. Joining UD were La Salle, Massachusetts, Saint Joseph's, Temple and Xavier. Charlotte, who will join the A-10 next season, was also included.
