Visiting Dayton secured the top seed in the Atlantic 10 Championships with a 3-1 (30-24, 23-30, 30-28, 30-27) victory over A-10 West rival Saint Louis on Friday behind a triple-double from senior Nicole Schott.
Schott hit .714 with 10 kills and 10 digs to go along with 44 assists for her first career triple-double as the Flyers (18-9, 11-1 A-10) won their 13th consecutive match. The Billikens fell to 13-14 overall and 5-5 in A-10 play.
UD out hit SLU .278 to .216 and led in blocks (14.0 to 7.0) as four Flyers reached double figures in kills.
Junior middle blocker Faye Barhorst hit .444 with a match-high 19 kills to go along with four blocks. She has now reached double-digits in kills during 23 of the 27 matches this season.
Current A-10 Player of the Week Robynne Green hit .357 with 13 kills and a career-high nine blocks. She was followed by freshman Kortney Norris with 10 kills and four blocks of her own.
Defensively, UD was led by sophomore libero Adrienne Green with 13 digs and redshirt freshman Erin Schroeder with 10.
Dayton returns to action on Sunday with a 1 p.m. match at Duquesne in its A-10 regular season finale. With a win against the Dukes, the Flyers would be assured of their best ever Atlantic 10 Conference record in its 11 seasons as a member of the conference.
