Final Stats
Columbus, OH - Four Flyers either broke or tied their outdoor season-best in their respective events. The Flyers also had five top ten finishes as they finished in tenth place out of 14 teams in the All-Ohio Championships in Columbus Friday and Saturday.
Freshmen Megan Sweeney (Cincinnati, OH) finished the high jump with a height of 5-03.75. This was her highest jump of the outdoor season and also tied her best indoor best which she set at the indoor All-Ohio Championships February 13th.
Freshman Connie Fleming (Valrico, FL) set a new career best in the javelin and the hammer throw. In the javelin throw, she threw for a distance of 107-01 and ended up in eighth place. Fleming finished with a distance of 123-03 in the hammer throw and finished in 18th place. She also finished in 24th place in the shot put with a throw of 33-10.00. Fleming also competed in the discus throw, finishing with a distance of 118-01 and in 16th place.
Junior Kelly Pohlman (Versailles, OH) had the best throw of her outdoor season in the shot put with a distance of 46-00.50. This put her in fourth place, one place out of winning a medal. She also finished in eleventh place in the discus throw (129-01) and twelfth place in the hammer throw with a distance of 149-04.
In the 100m dash, senior Aftan Delaney (Bellbrook, OH) finished in seventh place with her best time at 12.47, tying her outdoor-season best. She also finished in 14th place in the 200m dash with a time of 25.44.
Senior Katie Clifford (Grafton, MA) finished in seventh place in the heptathlon with a score of 2205.
The University of Akron took home first place in the meet, finishing with 197 points. Ohio State (126) finished in second, followed by Bowling Green (92), Cincinnati (87), Ashland University (80), Miami University (78), Toledo (49), Ohio (36), Findlay (49), and UD (18). UD beat out Tiffin University (10), Central State University (8), and rivals Wright State University (5) and Xavier University (1).
The Flyers will take a week off before they travel to Louisville, KY, to compete in the Louisville Classic April 30th.
