Second Trio In Program History To Qualify For NCAA East Region First Round

DAYTON- University of Dayton Track Field for the second time in program history will send three athletes to the NCAA East Region First Round. Casey Bogues, Jadyn Haywood, and Daniela Peralta will all compete next Thursday, at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida. This is just the second time in program history that the Flyers are sending three to compete in the First Round and the first since Emily Borchers, Allison Triskett, and Kelly Wilker all ran in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 2019.

Casey Bogues will compete at the regional in the javelin for the fourth time in her historic career and will try to qualify for the NCAA Championships for the third time.  The Red Bank, New Jersey native won her fourth Atlantic 10 title earlier this month, with a meet and facility record at George Mason Stadium (53.12m). Her mark is the ninth best throw this year in the east region.

Jadyn Haywood will compete for the first time at the regional in the 100m. The junior won Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track Performer Of The Year at the A-10 Outdoor Championships by winning both the 100m, 200m, and claiming silver with the 4x100 relay team. The Dayton, Ohio native qualified for the east regional in 100m by running 11.41 twice during the season. It has been a record breaking year for Haywood, who broke school records in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay.

Daniela Peralta qualified for the regional in javelin on her very last throw at the Mount Union Last Chance Meet. The Gillete, New Jersey native posted the 38th best throw in the region, with a personal record of 47.50m. Her mark was also the third-best throw in program history. Peralta picked up her first career win at Mount Union and seven-times this year she's finished in the top five.

Bogues, Haywood and Peralta will all compete next Thursday, May 29, at Hodges Stadium, on the campus of the University of North Florida, in Jacksonville.
