Dayton, OH - Junior track and field star Kelly Pohlman (Versailles, OH) has been named the Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week for the first time this outdoor season. Pohlman set the top mark in the shot put Saturday in the A-10 while winning two medals and setting two new outdoor bests.
While competing in the Cardinal Invitational, Pohlman set a new personal outdoor season best in the shot put with a distance of 46-4.25, winning her the gold medal in this event. This distance is the top mark in the A-10 so far this year.
Pohlman also competed in the discus throw, where she threw for a distance of 141-11 and won the bronze medal. This distance is another outdoor personal best for Pohlman.
Pohlman also competed in the hammer throw, where she threw for a distance of 134-08 and finished in eighth place.
Pohlman was won six medals in the outdoor season so far, two gold, one silver, and three bronze medals. Pohlman won A-10 Performer of the Week for the Indoor season twice.
The track and field team will compete again Saturday when they travel to Indianapolis, IN, to compete in the Stan Lyons Invitational.
