DAYTON MEN'S TENNIS HANDS MASTODONS 5-2 DEFEAT

Dayton men's tennis won their second match of the spring season today versus IPFW. The 5-2 victory put the Flyers record at 2-3 after five spring dual matches. While the Mastodons managed to pry two singles matches away from the Flyers, Dayton swept all three doubles matches.

Junior Tom Murphy defeated Landry Nzudic 6-0, 6-0 at first singles to improve his singles record to 4-1 thus far. At second singles sophomore James O'Connell polished off Nabil Mourad Filhov 7-5, 6-4. Junior Rex Cabrera won a tough match at third singles as well, beating Carlos Gonzalez 7-6 (4), 8-6 (10-7). Rounding out the winners for the Flyers was freshman Brad Roby who won at sixth singles 7-6, 6-0.

At first doubles, Murphy and senior Jamison Downs teamed up to beat Nzudic/Filhov 8-5. O'Connell and Cabrera also came away winners at second doubles defeating Jackson/Mitson 8-3. In third singles sophomore Chris Jones and freshman David Peyton were victors over Gonzalez/Salgado 8-5.

The Flyers will remain at home for their next match on the 10th at 3:00 PM against Morehead State.
