Results
Columbus, OH - On the first day of the All-Ohio Championships in Columbus, Ohio, the University of Dayton Women's Track team participated in four events so far placing eighth out of 10 teams overall. These events included the 10000 meter run, the hammer throw, the javelin throw, and heptathlon.
Dianne Striebel placed fifth in the 10000 meter run with a time of 40:59.44 earning the Flyers four points. Amanda and Elizabeth Tucker also participated in the 10000 meter run with times of 42:34.38 and 43:07.52 placing eighth and ninth respectively. Amanda Tucker's finished eared the team one point.
In the hammer throw, Kelly Pohlman placed 11 with a throw of 46.17m. Connie Fleming also participated in the hammer throw.
Placing sixth in the javelin throw was Candace McKinley with a distance of 37.62m, adding three points to the team's total score. Connie Fleming had a distance of 30.87m which gave her 11 place.
Lastly, Amy Kremer competed in the heptathlon placing third in the 100 meter hurdles, third in the high jump, second in the shot put, and fifth in the 200 meter dash.
The second half of the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships will take place today, Saturday April 8.
