TRACK AND FIELD FINISHES SIXTH AT ALL-OHIO CHAMPIONSHIPS

The University of Dayton women's track and field team recorded two new school records at the New Balance Games on February 2 and 3. Sophomore Lisa Aubry and senior Liz Forster posted new school records in the 500 meter dash at Armory Track and Field Center in New York City.

Aubry and Forster both set personal records in the 500 meter dash finishing in times of 1:14.93 and 1:15.35, respectively. Aubry, who finished fifth overall set a new school record with her time. Forster, who finished in eighth place overall, broke the existing school record in the event and now holds UD's second fastest 500 meter dash time.

The 4x4 relay team of Stacy Chew, Emma Steinmetz, Forster and Aubry recorded a time of 3:55.14 in the event for a season best by six seconds, finishing just shy of the school record which stands at 3:55.06.

In other relay action, the Flyers posted a season best in the 4x2 relay. Lauren McCormick, Micella Davis, Lauren O'Brien, and Brittany Thomas finished four seconds faster in the event for a 1:44.13 time. The 4x8 relay team of Kate Tejkl, Angela Conlon, Sydney Hubbard, and Bridget Conlon recorded a strong time of 9:46.40, placing 11th overall.

Long distance runner Alex Miles sped up her one mile time running in 5:25.53 for her fastest time of the season. Miles, along with teammates Emma Steinmetz, Kate Tejkl, and Jacqueline Jaworek, finished 11th in the distance medley relay (12:35.90) posting a season best time by more than 20 seconds.

Last week's Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week McCormick topped her season best in the 60 meter dash with a 7.71 time, finishing 26th out of 77 runners. The freshman Flyer also set a career best time in the 200 meter dash (25.68) along with fellow teammate, Thomas who ran the event in 25.78.

Up next for Dayton is the All-Ohio Championships on February 9. The Flyers will travel to Bowling Green, Ohio to compete against schools across the state of Ohio.
