Despite 21 bench points, the Dayton Flyers fell 71-65 to the Saint Joseph Hawks on Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia, PA. Dayton moves to 14-8 overall and 4-5 in the A-10 Conference.

Senior Monty Scott and junior Brian Roberts led the Flyers with 15 points apiece, as Dayton remains winless (0-8) on the road this season.

UD shot 45 percent (26-for-58), while sinking 8-of-20 from beyond the arc.

Junior Norman Plummer was the only other Flyer in double-figures as he chipped in 13 points to go with four rebounds.

Defensively, Dayton forced 10 turnovers and had three steals, but its 23 fouls (one technical) were costly as the Hawks connected on 18 of their 26 free-throws.

Pat Calathes paced Saint Joe's with 20 points and 10 rebounds for his third-straight double-double.

Jawan Carter's 3-pointer with 3:58 remaining gave the Hawks a 61-52 lead. But Roberts scored the next five points on a 3-pointer and two free throws, cutting the advantage to 61-57 with 2:41 left.

Calathes responded with two free throws and a short baseline jump shot to give the Hawks a 65-57 lead with 1:25 remaining. Dayton got no closer than five points for the rest of the game.

The Flyers return home for a match-up with the Fordham Rams on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. at UD Arena.
