DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton track and field team will travel south to Coral Gables, Florida for the team's first outdoor meet of the season. The Flyers are set to compete in the Hurricane Invitational hosted by the University of Miami on Saturday.
Dayton is coming off a successful indoor season in which six UD track and field records were broken. In addition, more than 40 career bests were recorded during the indoor season.
The Flyers posted a sixth place finish in the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track and Field Championships where Dayton finished 18 points ahead of last year. The team also recorded the best finish in school history in the A-10's current format with the team's six out of 12 team finish.
"We are very excited to head south to get some warm weather training in before our first meet on Saturday," said head coach Kandice Erwin. "The team is coming off a very successful indoor season, so we are hoping to start off with our outdoor season with the same success."

Dayton will travel to Cincinnati in the team's second outdoor meet of the year. The Flyers are set to compete in the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational on April 7.
