MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – No. 20 Dayton remained unbeaten after defeating Baylor in four sets on Saturday afternoon at the Diet Coke Classic on the campus of the University of Minnesota (22-25, 25-12, 25-21, 25-21).
The Flyers were led by two players registering double-doubles while defense was yet again a tell-tale story line.
Dayton held Baylor to a .096 hitting percentage and continued its streak of recording over nine team blocks in all matches this season. Sophomore
Rachel Krabacher -- coming off a career-high in kills last night – gave 11 kills and a team-high 20 digs for her second consecutive double-double. Senior
Amanda Cowdrey had 12 kills and 13 digs to co-lead UD in points at 13.

Lindsay Fletemier also scored 13 points on the afternoon with six blocks and nine kills for a match-high .318 hitting percentage.
Dayton lost the first set for the second match in a row, but was able to come back to win the next three to improve to 5-0 on the season. After Baylor came back from 5-2 deficit to win the first set, Dayton countered by never giving up the lead in a dominating 25-12 set two victory. The UD defense showed its teeth to hold Baylor to a -.073 hitting percentage as 4.5 of the Flyers’ 9.5 total team blocks came in the second set.
Set three and four were decided by a score of 25-21 as UD continued to hold the Bears to sub-.100 hitting percentages in all three set victories.
Saturday was the first meeting between the Flyers and Bears on the volleyball court.
The stage is set for the Flyers to face No. 8 Minnesota (4-1) – host of the Diet Coke Classis – tonight at 9 p.m. ET. In the early session on Saturday, Northern Iowa upset the Gophers in five sets – leaving Dayton as the lone unbeaten team in the Classic's field.
