The University of Dayton women's soccer team celebrated the 2010 season with the team's annual awards banquet Saturday evening at the Boesch Lounge at UD Arena.
The highlight of the banquet was the announcement of the Stacey Martin Memorial Award. Senior goalkeeper
Lisa Rodgers was voted the winner of UD’s lone award.
The award is in honor of Stacey Martin, a former UD women's soccer player who passed away on March 28, 1998 during an exhibition match at Baujan Field. In her memory, the Flyers established the team leadership award in her name. The recipient of the award is selected by a vote of the team.
Also during the banquet, the Flyers honored their five seniors –
Kelly Blumenschein,
Jerica DeWolfe,
Alli Giner,
Tori Oelschlager, and
Lisa Rodgers –with gifts and a senior tribute video. The seniors also gave farewell and thank you speeches.
In addition, a highlight video of UD’s magical season showcased Dayton’s NCAA run, Atlantic 10 Tournament Championship and their 19-3-1 record.
