Newport News, VA- The University of Dayton Division of Athletics placed 113 student-athletes on the Atlantic 10 Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the spring of 2011 semester.
“Congratulations to each student-athlete represented on the spring 2011 Commissioner's Honor Roll. Balancing the demands of athletic participation and academic achievement is a difficult task,” stated Atlantic 10 Commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade. “Each of these student-athletes is a great role model for their institution and the Atlantic 10 Conference."
To be listed on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll, a student-athlete in an Atlantic 10-sponsored sport must have a 3.5 GPA or better (on a 4.0 scale) during the specified semester. Freshmen are eligible to receive the award.
The Flyers are third among the 14 Atlantic 10 Conference institutions in the number of student-athletes recognized.
21 members of the women’s track and field team were on the list. They took second place in the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track Championship this spring and won the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track Championship last winter.
There were 1328 Atlantic 10 student-athletes on the list for the spring 2011 semester.
