QUEBEC KEBS SIGN MICKEY PERRY TO 1 YEAR CONTRACT

Quebec City – Slan Sports Management and The Quebec KEBS are pleased to announce the signing of former Flyer Phillip ‘Mickey’ Perry to the KEBS roster for the 2011-2012 season.

Perry, a 6’3” guard, transferred to the University of Dayton starting in 2007 from Wisconsin. He finished his college carrer with UD and graduated in 2010. He was an influential member of the 2009-10 FLyers that won the 2010 National Invitation Tournament. Perry also helped the Flyers to the second round of the NCAA tournament in 2009.

Perry was the seventh leading scorer in the Premier Basketball League (PBL) last season, averaging 17.7 points per game for the Dayton Air Strikers.  Perry led the PBL in three-point percentage (43.7) for any player with over one hundred three-point attempts.

Perry will come into the NBL of Canada as a relatively well-known player. On February 10, 2011 he scored 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting including 4-of-8 from the three-point range against the KEBS. On March 25, 2011, Perry scored 37 points, on 68 percent shooting from the field against the Halifax Rainmen.

“Since playing against the KEBS last year, I knew they were a quality organization,” says Perry. “I am truly excited for this opportunity and believe I can help the team take their game to the next level.”

“Mickey was exactly the kind of player we were looking for,” says KEBS head coach, Rob Spon. “He can really light it up and impact a game in a matter of seconds with his scoring ability.”
