MAUI, Hawaii – Fans attending Saturday's Dayton-Temple men's basketball game will have the opportunity to witness the delivery of a custom-made, commemorative EA Sports Maui Invitational Surfboard to UD Arena.
Saturday's game will tip-off at 11 a.m. ET. Fans can purchase tickets by going online via DaytonFlyers.com, visiting the UD Ticket Office or calling (937) 229-4433.
The University of Dayton Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET and on weekends three hours prior to the start of men's home basketball games.
The school-specific surfboard delivery is the tip-off for travel packages to the event which will be held Nov. 25-27 at Lahaina Civic Center on the island of Maui.
Throughout the season, representatives of the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational will catch a wave across the country to present eight-foot, hand-crafted, authentic island surfboards to participating coaches and teams in order to build excitement and commemorate the teams’ trips to Maui.
“Surfboard deliveries allow us to share the Spirit of Aloha all across the country to every participating school,” EA SPORTS Maui Invitational Tournament Chairman Dave Odom said. “There’s no better way to get excited for the Tournament in the fall than by seeing an authentic Maui surfboard in a great basketball city like Dayton.”
Fans will be able to then take pictures with the surfboard after the presentation. The surfboard will be on display in the UD Arena concourse.
Surfboards for the 2013 EA Sports Maui Invitational have already been delivered to Arkansas, Syracuse, Minnesota and Baylor with future deliveries scheduled for Gonzaga, California and Chaminade.
