Flyers Will Honor Kids With Exceptionalities Prior To The Match

The University of Dayton women's soccer team (2-4-0) will host the Florida International University Panthers (2-3-0) on Friday, Sept. 13 set for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Baujan Field. It is the Kicks for Kids match and children with exceptionalities will be honored prior to the match. Regular season women's soccer matches at Baujan Field are free admission this season. The Flyers then make their way across town to take on the Wright State University Raiders (2-2-2) Sunday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Rinzler Student Sports Complex.

KICKS FOR KIDS
The UD women's soccer team is collaborating with the University of Dayton Department of Health and Sport Science to support their Adapted Physical Activity Program for the community service program which promotes healthy, active living through physical activity for children with a wide range of exceptionalities.
The HSS Department will be collecting donations during the Flyers' Sept. 13 match against Florida International. Kicks for Kids collection boxes will be located at both entrances of Baujan Field.

Fans can also send donations to: University of Dayton, c/o Kicks for Kids, 300 College Park, Dayton, OH 45469-1210.
The funds raised will go toward equipment for the UD Adapted Physical Activity Program, which benefits children in the Dayton area who have exceptionalities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Blind and Low Vision, Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Developmental Disability (DD), Learning Disabilities (LD), and Physical Disability.

FLYER FACTS
• Dayton is 2-4-0 going into this weekend after tough losses to top SEC programs Tennessee (2-0) and Kentucky (3-1). 
• Senior Juliana Libertin and sophomore Ashley Campbell share the lead for points for the Flyers with seven each. 
• Libertin recorded her 30th career assist in the match against the Wildcats. She is second all-time at UD and she is third in the NCAA for active career leaders.
• Freshman Elizabeth James has started every minute in goal for the Flyers. She has 26 saves, one shutout and a 1.50 GAA.
• The Flyers have not lost three consecutive matches since 1995, Mike Tucker's first season as head coach of the Flyers.
• UD has won the Atlantic 10 Regular season title 10 times (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010). The Flyers have won the A-10 Tournament Championship eight times (1996, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2011). The Flyers also have made eight NCAA appearances since 1996.
• The Flyers led the nation in scoring offense with 2.9 goals per game in 2012. 
• UD finished the 2012 season 14-4-2.
• UD was one of only two schools in NCAA Division I women's soccer to have three players score in double figures: Colleen Williams (17), Ashley Campbell (12) and Juliana Libertin (12). 
• Libertin was 12th in the country in assists per game last season. 

THE SERIES
This will be the first match ever played between Florida International and Dayton.
The Flyers are 22-4-2 against Wright State in the program's history. Last season, the Flyers walked away with a 3-0 win at home against the Raiders.

SCOUTING OPPONENTS
Florida International
The Panthers are 2-3-0 going into the match against Dayton. Florida International is coming off a 2-1 loss against Florida Gulf Coast along with a 2-0 win against Cleveland State. Sophomore Madlen Weinhardt leads the Panthers with two goals and an assist in their first five games of the season.

Wright State
The Raiders are 2-2-2 going into the weekend. Wright State had a 0-0 draw against Western Michigan last weekend along with a 1-0 loss against Iowa. Wright State is led this season by senior forward Emilie Fillion who has tallied three goals and an assist.

UP NEXT
The Flyers will play at Central Michigan on Friday, Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. and then at Toledo on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m.
