DAYTON TRACK AND FIELD HEADS TO KENTUCKY INVITATIONAL

Event Schedule   I   Live Stats

DAYTON, Ohio
– The University of Dayton women's track and field team will travel to Lexington, Ky. for the University of Kentucky Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

"We are coming off of an outstanding first meet and will be looking to continue that success this week at Kentucky, in a much larger meet setting," said head coach Jason Francis. "Having another week of practice since break is a benefit to everyone especially the technical events, which has given them more time to adapt to the timing of their events."

The Flyers will begin competition on Friday at 5 p.m.  Saturday, the field events will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the running events at 12 p.m. The invitational is expected to wrap-up by 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Dayton is coming off a strong overall performance at the Ohio State Buckeye Classic last week to open the season. The Flyers will look to build on that early productivity this weekend.

Kentucky is just one of the talented teams Dayton will compete against, with the Wildcats being ranked No. 6 in the preseason poll.

The event will take place at the Nutter Field House, an $8.5 million facility rebuilt in 2012. It has been the site of multiple SEC Track and Field Championships.
