KACSOR, STUBBS NAMED PFL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Duo Played Big Roles In Dayton’s 24-13 Win Over Duquesne On Saturday

St. Louis – University of Dayton redshirt senior running back Connor Kacsor and senior cornerback Cameron Stubbs were honored by the Pioneer Football League for their roles in the Flyers' 24-13 win at home against Duquesne on Saturday.

Kacsor was named co-Offensive Player of the Week (sharing the award with Marist running back Marcellus Calhoun), while Stubbs was the second Dayton defensive back to be named PFL Defensive Player of the Week this season (safety Danny Leach earned it ln week one).

Kacsor carried the ball 40 times for 244 yards and all three of UD's touchdowns.  After the Dukes took a 13-3 lead with 7:53 left in the third quarter, Kacsor carried the ball 22 times for 150 yards to lead the Flyers to the win.  It was his fifth game of 200 yards or more, and the 12th time in his last 20 games he has had at least 100 yards rushing.

The Leo, Ind. product is currently second in FCS football in rushing yards per game (158.0).

Stubbs came up with the first two interceptions of the season thrown by Duquesne quarterback Dillon Buechel, a three-year starter.  He was also second on the team with six tackles and four solo hits.  Among his tackles were four against pass receivers who were held to a total of 21 yards gained.  Stubbs, from St. Louis (Mo.) University High School, also had a tackle in the backfield and returned one kickoff for 24 yards.

The two-year starter at corner is among 19 players who are tied for first nationally in interceptions per game (1.0).  Teammate Danny Leach is also of those 19 leaders.

In addition to the conference player of the week honor, Stubbs was selected to be this week's PFL Defensive Player of the Week by College Sports Madness.

UD remains home to close out the non-conference portion of the schedule on Saturday, Sept. 26.  Dayton plays host to Kennesaw State for the first of two games this season under the lights of Welcome Stadium, with kickoff time at 6 p.m. ET.  The game is the Flyers' annual "Pink Game" for breast cancer awareness.  The Owls are in their very first season of play and are off to a great start with a 3-0 record.
