Junior Corner Tied A UD Record With 3 Interceptions

ST. LOUIS – University of Dayton junior cornerback Christian Searles was named Defensive Player of the Week after helping Dayton to its third straight win Saturday at Jacksonville.

Searles intercepted three passes in UD's 36-16 win over the Dolphins.  The Chicago Mt. Searles was also in on two tackles and broke up a pass.  On special teams, he returned three punts for 43 yards.

On the season, Searles is second in the PFL in passes defended (1.43 per game).  He leads the Flyers in passes broken up (7) and is tied for second in interceptions (3).  Dayton leads the PFL and is second in FCS football in interceptions this season (12).

Searles was also College Sports Madness' PFL Defensive Player of the Week.

Dayton is 5-2 on the year and third in the PFL with a 3-1 record.   UD will take on Butler in Indianapolis Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.
